Wile E. Poems & AI

After my last post about Wile E. Coyote, I found myself wondering what to write next. Then inspiration struck. Why not write something about the greatest self-proclaimed genius in cartoon history?

That thought sent me down an AI rabbit hole and, naturally, to the only AI I regularly use: Copilot. I asked it to write a sonnet about the great genius himself, and the result was surprisingly good. It captures both the quixotic nature of his endless pursuit and the remarkable ingenuity that keeps him coming back for more, no matter how spectacular the failure.

So, without further ado, here’s the sonnet:

Upon the desert’s sun-baked stage he schemes,
With furrowed brow and eyes upon his prey;
The Road Runner eludes his grandest dreams,
And leaves him choking dust by close of day.

From ACME’s crates arrive with hopeful haste
Strange rockets, springs, and contraptions untried;
Yet every cunning plan goes soon to waste,
As cliffs and fate conspire against his pride.

He paints a tunnel on the canyon wall,
And watches, stunned, the bird race safely through;
Then learns too late the laws that govern all
Apply to him with unforgiving hue.

Though every fall should end his quest at last,
He rises still, outmatched, unbowed, steadfast.
