The first trailer for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog has arrived. There are some nice music, and visual, elements that will take you back to playing the game on your Sega megadrive. From then on, we get an annoying Jim Carrey who has the feel of channelling Dennis Hopper’s performance from Super Mario Bros.
Sometimes we see a trailer and hate a character. Subsequent trailers can take away our annoyance. In this case I think we’re stuck with Carrey. A feeling that he has too much influence on the way the film was made. If that’s the case then it would explain the worrying feel I get when I see him in the trailer. It’s a pity as he can be an excellent actor.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog.
The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski. Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.
