BLACKWATER PICTURES is excited to announce that their tense boxing drama HEAVYWEIGHT will be celebrating its World Premiere as the opening feature at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival on June 18th.
Director Christopher M. Anthony’s debut feature, HEAVYWEIGHT, stars a knockout cast with Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter series, White Lotus), Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy, Marcella, For Life) & Jordan Bolger (Peaky Blinders, The Woman King).
HEAVYWEIGHT follows wildcard boxing contender, ‘Diamond’ Derek Douglas, and his support team ahead of a title fight he doubts he can win. The pressure escalates in real-time, as dirty tricks and revelations are revealed. ‘Heavyweight’ is an intense and visceral experience exploring a side of elite sport rarely seen.
Headed by producers Kevin Harvey, Antoine Dixon Bellot and BAFTA-nominated Tiernan Hanby, the film also stars Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil: Retribution), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) and Joplin Sibtain (Andor).
