Mortal Engines have arrived

The first trailer of Peter Jackson’s new project, Mortal Engines, has arrived.  It’s got the classic writing team of Peter, Fran Walsh & Philippa Boyens who has seen many an Oscar being won from their writing talents.  Peter isn’t directing the film.  He’s left that to the King Kong Oscar®-winning visual-effects artist, Christian Rivers.

The teaser trailer doesn’t give that much away, plot wise, but it does show some of the information that’s been mentioned in the film’s synopsis.  The visuals do look what we have come to expect from a Peter Jackson production.  I just hope that Christian is up to the task of pulling it off as people would expect from seeing Peter Jackson on the bill.  On the other hand whenever it says on the poster “A well know director presents”, it can fill you with dread as it could be a huge budget turkey because the director isn’t up to the task.  Only time will tell with this one.
