Lost in La Mancha is back in UK cinemas to celebrate its 20th anniversary

Remastered and released once again into cinemas and on digital to mark its 20th anniversary, Lost in La Mancha is an acclaimed cult classic which charts Terry Gilliam’s disastrous first attempt to bring his dream project, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, to the screen.

Visionary director Terry Gilliam has a dream. He wants to film the story of Don Quixote by recasting it as a trippy, time-traveling, mistaken-identity adventure starring Johnny Depp. From flooded sets to never-ending money problems, follow Gilliam as he suffers one setback after another whilst trying to get his passion-project off the ground.

Featuring acclaimed artist and director Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Twelve Monkeys), Lost in La Mancha includes Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) and Jean Rochefort (The Hairdresser’s Husband) and is narrated by Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski). Nominated at the BAFTA’s and the British Independent Film Awards among many others, this beloved classic look at the methods and madness of filmmaking was directed by Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe and produced by Lucy Darwin, the team behind documentary He Dreams of Giants which charted the making of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, finally completed in 2018.
