I discovered 54 Days a while ago as my sister site, Road Rash Reviews, reviewed it.
It’s a low-buget, Australian indie film. One that the critics seem to like. It’s not just our sister site who likes it!
This, basically, means that you’re not going to see huge explosions [even if you do see some in the trailer!] or crowd scenes in this one! It does have quite a lot in keeping with many other low-budget films. Very few characters, set in a location that people cannot leave for some reason. Infection or some sort of war so to keep them in that one location.
Apart from that, the main issue in this film is the number of people that have managed to survive together. One more than the food supply is planned for! Who will live, who will die? Will they decide to do this as a choice or will it all end up in a messy way with them all fighting each other for the chance to live? My money is on the latter.
The only problem is that there isn’t a UK release date at the moment. I have asked the team via twitter and when I hear back, this page will be updated.

I’m not going to speculate on who the distributors are but I could make a good educated guess. Whoever they finally get, it’s just great news for the film to get into the UK even if it may just be “on video”
