1972. War protests and racial tension sizzle in the late summer heat of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Recent college grad Billy spends the summer working on the grounds of an asylum run by his psychiatrist father. As Billy falls for Virginia, a patient at his father’s institute, his best friend Nigel becomes involved with a radical civil rights activist against Tuscaloosa's power elite - including Billy's father.
