Unable to speak the language, he manages a few words in English with the locals, but all in vain. Taking pity on him, the owner, Sirkka, finds a place where he and his young son can stay, but it is only when he volunteers his services as a cook that the real transformation begins, and it is one that will have a profound effect on the entire village.
