Park Circus is, once again, delighted to have a presence at the 2018 BFI London Film Festival with four films featuring in the Treasures section.
Following its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Some Like it Hot will be presented in a sparkling new 4K restoration by MGM, Park Circus and the Criterion Collection. The film has been restored from the 35mm original camera negative. In addition, a 35mm fine-grain master positive and 35mm duplicate negative were used to replace missing/damaged sections of the camera negative. The restoration was undertaken at Criterion Post, New York. Additional restoration and grading was completed at Roundabout Entertainment, Santa Monica.
From Sony Pictures comes a brand new 4K restoration of None Shall Escape. André De Toth’s wartime film was the first to depict the horrors of the Holocaust and harsh realities of WWII. This is the UK premiere of the restoration.
Other titles to feature include 7th Heaven, directed by Frank Borzage, and starring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, and The Private Life of Henry VIII, the 1933 British drama directed by Alexander Korda. Charles Laughton won an Oscar® for his portrayal of Henry VIII.
Park Circus will also be handling the 12 October UK theatrical release of Mandy, immediately following the BFI London Film Festival UK premiere of this highly-anticipated horror film from director Panos Cosmatos and starring Nicolas Cage.
