A live-action retelling of The Jungle Book. This time it’s called after the lead character, Mowgli. Not only that, we see Andy Serkis take the director’s chair. It is a radical departure from all the other versions of the story that we have seen in the past. It’s not the light hearted tales that we love. This is a more of “based on a true story” sort of thing instead of singing bears that Diskey gave us in the past.
With that, we have been sent over the first trailer as well as a nice set of images, and the first poster.
The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo and a panther named Bagheera, Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.
