MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, released today a brand new full-length trailer for Priscilla, the new hotly anticipated drama from Academy Award winning director and screenwriter Sofia Coppola. The film will open theatrically in the UK and Ireland from 26 December 2023 with special 35mm previews in select cinemas. The film will be released widely from 1 January 2024.
Priscilla received its World Premiere in Competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, followed by the UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival earlier this year.
Written and directed by Sofia Coppola, Priscilla is based on the 1985 memoir Elvis and Me written by Priscilla Presley and Sandra Harmon. The film stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla, Jacob Elordi as Elvis Presley, and Dagmara Dominczyk.
When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend. Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.
