Directed by Johnny Depp and starring Riccardo Scamarcio (A Haunting in Venice, John Wick: Chapter 2) in a tour-de-force lead performance, MODIGLIANI – THREE DAYS ON THE WING OF MADNESS is a personal and universal tale of art, love and rejection told during a whirlwind seventy-two hours in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani.
The film, which had its World Premiere at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, features a stellar supporting cast including Antonia Desplat (Made In France, Shantaram), Bruno Gouery (Emily In Paris), Ryan McParland (upcoming Channel 4 series Pushers, Say Nothing), Luisa Ranieri (Parthenope, The Hand of God), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy), with Stephen Graham (Adolescence, Boiling Point), and Academy Award® winner Al Pacino (The Irishman, The Godfather trilogy).
A seventy-two-hour whirlwind in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani, known as ‘Modi’ to his friends, follows a chaotic series of events through the streets of war torn Paris in 1916. On the run from the police, the desire to end his career and leave the city is dismissed by fellow artists Maurice Utrillo, Chaïm Soutine and Modi’s muse, Beatrice Hastings. Modi seeks advice from his art dealer and friend, Leopold Zborowski — however, after a night of hallucinations, the chaos in Modi’s mind reaches a crescendo when faced with an American collector, Maurice Gangnat, who has the power to change his life.
MODIGLIANI – THREE DAYS ON THE WING OF MADNESS is produced by Barry Navidi & Johnny Depp and is co-produced by Stephen Malit, Stephen Deuters, Sam Sarkar, Jason Forman and Viktória Petrányi.
The original soundtrack will be released 27 June via Cadiz Music/IN.2 Records on double vinyl, CD and digital, featuring music from Tom Waits, The Velvet Underground & Nico, The Tiger Lillies and more.
