SCRAPPER received its World Premiere at Sundance in January 2023 where it won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize. It marks the incredible feature debut from writer / director Charlotte Regan, an upcoming London-based filmmaker who began her career at 15 shooting low budget music promos for her peers before moving on to become a successful music video director, shooting videos for artists that have included Stereophonics, Mumford & Sons, Wretch 32 and Wilkinson. She has also established herself as an acclaimed short filmmaker, with her first short film Standby selected for TIFF, nominated for a BAFTA and winning a BFI Future Film Award. In 2020 she was named one of Screen’s Stars of Tomorrow.
It’s said that it takes a village to raise a child but 12-year-old Georgie has other ideas. Living alone since her beloved mum died, Georgie fills the flat they shared with her own special magic. But when her absent father Jason turns up out of the blue, she’s forced to confront reality. A dreamy, witty and unmissable tale of family and fresh starts, SCRAPPER is a film that believes life’s not so much about chasing rainbows but snatching fistfuls in both hands.
SCRAPPER stars 2022 BAFTA Rising Star-nominee Harris Dickinson and newcomer Lola Campbell. It has been produced by Theo Barrowclough with Eva Yates, Farhana Bhula, Michael Fassbender, Conor McCaughan, Daniel Emmerson and Jim Reeve as Executive Producers. Molly Manning Walker, who won the coveted Un Certain Regard newcomer prize at Cannes this year for her feature debut How to Have Sex is the Director of Photography.
