Shaun first appeared in Aardman’s award winning short film Wallace and Gromit; A Close Shave in 1995. During the film Shaun gets an accidental shearing from an automatic knit-o-matic machine and Wallace appropriately decides to name him Shaun, a play on the word Shorn. Although Shaun only appeared on screen for a total of 7 minutes his lovable character won over the nation’s heart and in 2007 a brand new TV series was launched; Shaun the Sheep. Since then Shaun has starred in over 150 episodes, his own feature length film and was recently voted the nation’s best loved BBC children’s TV character of all time in a poll by the Radio Times. With over 6 million fans on Facebook and over 28 million view on YouTube Shaun’s audience continue to grow all around the world.
