Showalker UK is pleased to announce that the intense, moral-driven crime drama, VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH / 不赦之罪, will be in UK cinemas from the 14th of November.
Pastor Leung has been consumed by grief since his daughter’s brutal assault and suicide. Years later, the young offender Chi Lok is released from prison and unexpectedly joins Leung’s church. As their bond deepens, the pastor’s faith faces its ultimate trial: can forgiveness triumph over vengeance, or will old wounds consume them both?
Premiering at Tokyo International Film Festival 2024, Valley of the Shadow of Death / 不赦之罪 is an ambitious feature written and co-directed by Jeffrey Lam Sen and Antonio Tam. Both under 30, Lam and Tam are two exciting names emerging from Hong Kong’s new generation of filmmakers.
Speaking on their vision behind the film, directors Jeffrey Lam Sen and Antonio Tam said: “We chose a pastor as the protagonist to explore the extremes of human conflict and faith. This is a story about belief, forgiveness, and revenge — and a reflection of the contradictions that define contemporary Hong Kong.”
