Earlier on today something great hit my in-box. That being the brand new trailer, and poster, for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.
It touches on Peter Quill’s back story as well as introducing the rag-tag band on misfits that is the universe’s only hope of salvation! I think the universe could be screwed!
It is a mix of, as I have said, back story as well as explosions, wise cracks and explosions! Not only that, we see a raccoon with a huge gun!
The second thing that hit at the same time was the poster. It’s not the most exciting out there but it does have guns in it. The other thing it seems to show is some of the ships that we can see in the universe. Not only that, what ships will be chasing out “heroes”
It seems to be normal that the poster is not that good but the trailer will blow you away. I think it could be that the “language of the poster” is more ingrained than the designer would let you believe. It still has the, almost clichéd, blue and orange motif that are prevalent in posters today.
Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
