Yesterday, Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled a series of new portraits for a digital exhibition, curated in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate the release of the new film ONE LIFE in cinemas from 1stJanuary, 2024. The exhibition will be available digitally to the public from 12th December and features 11 new portraits of people who, as children, travelled on the Kindertransport, organised by Sir Nicholas Winton 84 years ago.
Several of Kindertransportees who were captured in the portraits joined for tonight’s launch, alongside cast member Romola Garai, director James Hawes, writers Lucinda Coxon and Nick Drake. The family of Sir Nicholas Winton also attended the event at the National Portrait Gallery this evening.
ONE LIFE, a See-Saw Films production, tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 children from the Nazis. Today, more than 6000 people are estimated to be alive because of his efforts. The film will be released in UK cinemas on 1st January, 2024.
