Disney'S ‘Tron: Ares’ Takes Over Piccadilly Lights And Makes History With The First Rooftop Red Carpet Event Above The Iconic Landmark

Yesterday evening [1Oct2025] Disney Studios transformed the Piccadilly Lights into the electrifying world of TRON: Ares, staging the first-ever rooftop red carpet above the iconic Lights. Standing above the London landmark, Jared Leto unveiled exclusive 3D TRON: Ares content live on the giant screens as crowds gathered below to watch. Jared Leto was joined on the rooftop by director Joachim Rønning and cast members Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Evan Peters and Gillian Anderson, creating a truly historic moment.

Guests arriving for the UK Sneak Peek screening event were immersed in a pulse-pounding digital frontier as the legendary central London location was reimagined with cutting-edge lighting design and futuristic set pieces. With a Nine Inch Nails soundtrack filling the space, visitors entered through an LED-lit corridor of shifting lights before stepping into the grid for a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity with the iconic Lightcycle.

Press and content creators were treated to an exclusive preview of footage from the newest chapter of the TRON saga, personally introduced by Rønning, Leto, Lee, Turner-Smith, Peters and Anderson.

Disney Studios and Landsec partnered to deliver a one-of-a-kind marketing activation that transformed Piccadilly Lights into the world of TRON: Ares. The campaign featured a ten-minute on-screen domination and electrifying takeover across advertisers Coca-Cola and Samsung, and movie partners and Ducati and IMAX. Disney created a cinematic spectacle that extended beyond the screen, by bringing content into the physical space of Piccadilly Lights – The Venue. The activation elevated audience engagement, proving that when digital storytelling meets real-world immersion, the impact is exponentially greater.
