Whilst waiting for the train I got talking to someone who was going down and was going to get a ticket on the door. This was 7:30am and the general tickets weren’t going on sale until 11am. Someone who was going to have to wait for hours before he could get a ticket.
Finally, at 11am, the general doors were opened and even more people flooded in. I was amazed at how many people they could get into the venue.
The 20,000 early bird tickets were sold out at break-neck speed and some people just got a ticket in time and others missed. I did hear a couple of grumbles but that, in a way, was great. It showed that how much people love these events and will happily stand out in the rain in a queue. A very British thing to do. Doing that for hours without complaint but still in great spirits when they finally get out of the rain and into Comic Con.
Onwards to the costumes.
