This hit my in-box just before Christmas and the first thing I thought was:
Then I reasilsed who the production company was and relaxed at the thought that it was Simon Cowell’s company SYCO who is putting the money towards the project.
The film looks like a B-grade sub-babe type of movie. Or that’s what I get from watching the trailer. With one well known name and others that some people may recognise from Spaced and Whose Line Is It Anyway?.
With a director, Nick Moore, who’s credits include Horrid Henry: The Movie. As well as one other that barely turned a profit. The writer, Paul Rose, wrote for Crossroads as well as a ton of children’s TV series…
All in all, It looks like a nice easy tax write-off for Syco as I don’t think it will make the 7% of British films to turn a profit. It’ll probably take some money in the UK but with the success of the One Direction movie this loss won’t even be noticed on the balance sheet.
Just sit down, click play and watch the trailer.

A heartwarming, quintessentially British adventure for all the family, PUDSEY: THE MOVIE follows cheeky London stray dog, PUDSEY (voiced by David Walliams) who is quite happy being a lone ranger and looking out for number one until he meets siblings Molly (Izzy Meikle-Smalls), George (Spike White) and Tommy (Malachy Knights). Following her divorce, their mother Gail (Jessica Hynes) is moving the family to the sleepy village of Chuffington-on-Sea and Pudsey tags along, to the dismay of their landlord, Mr Thorne (John Sessions) and his cat Faustus. As Pudsey starts to settle in with the family and realize what he was missing when he was alone, he stumbles across Thorne and Fautus’ evil plan and he determines to save them and the whole village.
