What changes a man? Some of this can be answered in the first trailer for Shia LaBeouf’s latest film, Man Down. One bad decision can last a lifetime & turn your world on its head.
It does feel that the trailer & synopsis could be from two different films. The trailer makes it look like a drama where we look back at what war has done to a young man. The synopsis on the other hand makes it sound like, almost, a detective movie.
In a savage post-apocalyptic America, U.S. Marine Gabriel Drummer, searches desperately for the whereabouts of his estranged son, Jonathan and wife, Natalie. Accompanied by his best friend Devin, a hardnosed marine whose natural instinct is to shoot first and ask questions later, the two intercept a survivor who carries vital information about the whereabouts of Gabriel’s family. As we revisit Garbriel’s traumatic past through a debrief with military counsellor Peyton, we are guided in unraveling the puzzle of his life and the origin of this war torn America.
