Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Rob Pearce is coming to UK cinemas this September

Republic Pictures announces that ROB PEACE, the stirring second feature from Oscar Nominated British actor/director Chiwetel Ejiofor, which features a breakout role from leading man Jay Will, will be released across UK & Irish cinemas on 6th September 2024.

The film’s UK trailer and poster have also been unveiled today for the wide release in the territory.

Written and directed by Ejiofor, ROB PEACE is based on Jeff Hobbs’ bestselling and critically acclaimed work of non-fiction. Robert Peace grew up in an impoverished section of Newark and later graduated from Yale on scholarship. Peace led a dual life in academia earning degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry while also selling marijuana to aid his father who he believed was unjustly imprisoned for murder.

Alongside Jay Will in the titular role, Chiwetel Ejiofor appears in front of the camera playing Peace’s father Skeet Douglas. Academy Award nominee, Grammy and Emmy winner and Queen of R&B Mary J. Blige plays Peace’s mother Jackie and award-winning artist Camila Cabello plays Naya, Peace’s on-off girlfriend.

Republic Pictures and Los Angeles Media Fund present ROB PEACE, a Sugar Peace Production, in association with Hill District Media, 25 Stories and Participant. The film is produced by Antoine Fuqua, Rebecca Hobbs, Jeffrey Soros, Simon Horsman, Andrea Calderwood, Kat Samick, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. The film stars Will, Blige, Ejiofor, Cabello, Curt Morlaye, Caleb Eberhardt, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Kelly and Mare Winningham. Blige executive produces alongside Jamin O’Brien, Morgan Earnest, Luke Rodgers, Jeff Skoll, Robert Kessel, Bruce Evans, Faye Stapleton, Ali Jazayeri and David Gendron.
