The Ares program has teamed up with Under Armour as a partner to provide the astronauts training gear for their mission to the red planet
Mark was asked about the partnership and what their clothing does for him whist training for the mission
“As brands go, I can’t think of a better partner for this mission,” said astronaut Mark Watney. “Their mantra of hard work and accomplishment speaks to everything it means to become an astronaut. The constant repetition of drills and training and preparation is as much as a battle of the self as it is against the challenges themselves. For an organization that embraces the I WILL attitude, they’re the perfect company to help us as we press forward, because for us, we have to train like survival is our only option.”
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, Watney must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return.
