Following on from 2007’s 300, comes the sequel. 300: Rise of an Empire. This one sees Themistokles taking on the mighty Persian navy.
That’s not why we’re here today. This is where I talk about the new poster that Warner Bros. have just released for the film.
One of the two posters below is the new one. What is your guess? The one that uses the, standard, Blue/Red motif that a lot of posters use, or one that seems to sum up the film?
The Answer is this – The new poster is the clichéd one of red & blue. Whoever thought that was a good idea should have read what the film is about! It could just be another one from the sets that were released for the original 300.
I leave you with some of the images that have been released for the film alongside what the captions should have been…
Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.
“300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
