Hatzín, a young teenager from Mexico City, travels to collect the remains of his father, found in a communal grave amidst the vast and barren landscape of northern Mexico.

But a casual encounter with a man (Hernán Mendoza) who shares a physical resemblance with his father introduces both doubt around the truth and hope for the possibility of a family connection.
