The new trailer for the upcoming new version of Macbeth has arrived. It has the feel of the 1971 Roman Polanski version mixed with a dollop of Kenneth Branagh’s Henry V. Both in scale and the way it has been shot. It’s hard to say if that was a concious thought or it’s just the best way to shoot the classic Shakespeare play.
With watching the new trailer it does make you want to go and see the witches and give Lady Macbeth a good talking to. Hopefully to stop her manipulating her husband into doing what he is destined to do!
The trailer has also, in a way, answered my question about what the synopsis meant by “… a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature’s most famous and compelling characters …“. Epic and quite bloody!
