We’ve got a ton of new stuff for their upcoming return to the big screen.
Not only some new character posters but a great new trailer exploding onto your computer screen.
It’s probably one of the very few movie series that you don’t need to put a name to. I proved that when the first set of posters hit. It was our heroes in a half-shell themselves. You automatically knew the film just because of the little we saw. A green, turtle, arm and a pair of nun-chucks could only be one film.
The four new posters show a lot more of our heroes. I would have preferred to see April or Shredder instead. It does feel that the marketing department has got, in a way, cold feet and just run a set of posters that are dull and uninspiring. The sort of posters I would have expected to see a lot closer to the film’s release not four months before release.
Not only that, the four turtles look like they have had far too much pizza and skipped out on training. I remember them from the 80s films as a lot thinner. Not only that, it does look like the shells are, more akin to rucksacks than part of the turtle. More like a rucksack than the turtle’s shell.
The trailer, on the other hand, is amazing as you would expect from Michael Bay. Even if his name is only there as the producer. Even so, it swamps the actual director. Whatever his name is.
We do see a lot more of Splinter and Shredder in this one. There is also quite a lot that has been re-cycled from the previous trailers as well. That’s something you come to expect in trailers.
The official synopsis doesn’t seem to exist but this is from the film’s IMDB entry:
Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil and her cameraman Vernon Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan
Coming out of the sewers and into UK cinemas October 17, 2014
