From 23 October, discover the magic of life by stepping into an enchanting world of nature and imagination when The Secret Garden comes to cinemas and Sky Cinema across the UK and Ireland.
The Secret Garden, from the producer of Harry Potter and Paddington, is based on the classic children’s novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and stars Dixie Egerickx, Academy Award and BAFTA winner Colin Firth and BAFTA winner Julie Walters.
The Secret Garden, a Sky original tells the story of Mary Lennox, a 10-year-old girl sent to live with her uncle Archibald Craven, under the watchful eye of Mrs. Medlock with only the household maid, Martha for company. The film is set in 1940s England at Misselthwaite Manor, a remote country estate deep in the Yorkshire moors.
Mary begins to uncover many family secrets, particularly after chancing upon her cousin Colin, who has been shut away unwell in a wing of the house. Whilst exploring the grounds of the Misselthwaite Manor, Mary discovers a wondrous garden and meets a local boy Dickon who helps her fix stray dog Hector’s injured leg using the garden’s restorative powers. The three children adventure deep into the mysteries of the garden —a magical place that will change their lives forever.
Directed by Marc Munden (National Treasure, The Third Day), written by Jack Thorne (Wonder, Radioactive), produced by David Heyman (Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts) and Rosie Alison (Paddington, The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas), The Secret Garden, a Sky original will be released in cinemas and on Sky Cinema from 23 October. The film will also be available on streaming service NOW TV via the Sky Cinema Pass.
