The upcoming documentary will be premiering exclusively on the Icon Film Channel for 30 days from 5th August, followed by a special Q&A theatrical screening on 9th September at the Genesis cinema in Mile End, before hitting digital platforms on 7th October.
As the boxing manager who led Lennox Lewis to championship glory, Kellie Maloney was no stranger to the spotlight. However, her greatest fight was yet to come, when in 2014 she announced to the world that she was undertaking gender reassignment surgery. Now, in this authorised, all-encompassing documentary, go twelve rounds with Kellie as you follow her remarkable journey from denial to truth, examining her childhood and career which went on to shape the history of boxing, and exploring how self-acceptance has changed her life for good.
The film includes never-before-seen interviews with Kellie, appearances by family, friends, and colleagues, and incredible archive footage that showcases the highs and lows of her personal and professional life.
Knock Out Blonde: The Kellie Maloney Story is directed and written by Tom DeNucci, Seth Koch & Rick Lazes. The trio have previously collaborated on a number of boxing documentaries including Lennox Lewis: The Untold Story and My Father Muhammed Ali.
Knock Out Blonde: The Kellie Maloney Story will be available to stream exclusively on the IFC Channel from 5th August. A special Q&A screening with Kellie Maloney will follow on 9th September at the Genesis cinema in Mile End, before releasing across all major digital platforms on 7th October.
