Yesterday, the streaming platform HBO Max commemorates its UK and Ireland launch with a star-studded event at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre in London, transforming the venue into an immersive, multi-room experience inspired by the platform’s most iconic series and storytelling.
Attendees include the lead stars of HBO Max’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series pictured together at their first red carpet, Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton.
Also in attendance from the HBO Max family; Lisa Kudrow and Michael Patrick King (The Comeback); Steve Carell, Phil Dunster and Charly Clive (Rooster); Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt); True Whitaker and Jordan Firstman (I Love LA), David Chase (The Sopranos), Sharon Horgan (Youth), Marisa Abela (Industry), Aimee Lou Wood and Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus), Linda Cardellini and Joy Sunday (DTF St. Louis), Sirine Saba (Harry Potter) and Peter Safran (Co-Chairman and CEO of DC Studios).
In addition, cast and creatives from the popular House of the Dragon and A Knight of a Seven Kingdoms series, including Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, James Norton, Fabien Frankel, Harry Collett, Tom Glynn-Carney, Phia Saban, Matthew Needham, Phoebe Campbell, Dexter Sol Ansell, Bertie Carvel, Shaun Thomas, and Sam Spruell.
From the world of sport, Ben Kay and Austin Healey (TNT Sports) also joined the celebrations.
Guests were invited inside for a one night only HBO Max house party, with DJ Lou Hayter spinning vinyl in The Loft, Peter Dorelli serving his signature martinis on bar trolleys in The Liquor Cabinet, a fridge stocked with Jell-O shots and ice cream sandwiches in The Kitchen Raid, billiards and a complete library of HBO Originals scripts in The Smoking Room, and a Closet stocked with vintage HBO merch for the taking.
Throughout the night, people ducked into the Cupboard Under The Stairs for a viewing of the newly-released first teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Guests picked up The Pitt’s emergency red phone to be prescribed a Penicillin cocktail shot before stopping by the polaroid room to capture the night.
The event marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for HBO Max in the UK and Ireland, as the platform officially launches with a rich and diverse slate of world-class entertainment.
