I maybe stating the blindingly obvious when I say that youtube has revolutionised the way we look at, and create for that matter, video on the internet. With that you can find some amazing work. Most of the time this is found randomly at a stupid time of night after staggering home from a night at a local hostelry. That’s one of the problems of the site. Trying to remember in the bright light of a hangover what the video was called.
There are some amazing bits of animation on the website. Three of my favourites are below. All involve violence in some form or another and are of completely different styles as well.
Sketchy Duel
One man challenges another rather more reluctant man to a duel in this funny animation. The loser will die in an instant, from one swift shot. Or not…
Animator vs. Animation
An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself.
A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find – the brush tool, the eraser tool – to get back at his tormentor. It’s resourcefulness versus power. Who will win? You can find out yourself.
Beating tetris
A quick animation on how to easily beat tetris and an insight on where all of those blocks actually come from…

I was going to call it a day with the three but after searching for animation, the first hit is this wonderful one about the story of LEGO. With it’s ups and downs on the way to becoming the company it is today. It’s a lot longer than all the others put together but it is well worth a watch.
