Hidden Door Productions and Bulldog Film Distribution are delighted to confirm that their upcoming romantic music-drama, Love Without Walls, will be released in UK & Irish cinemas from 9th June, alongside special Q&A screenings with Director Jane Gull and lead actors Niall McNamee and Shana Swash.
This news is fresh from the film’s World Premiere at Manchester Film Festival, where it won ‘Best UK Feature’ and will also be closing the London Independent Film Festival on 23rd April.
Love Without Walls stars Niall McNamee (The Foreigner) & Shana Swash (My Feral Heart) as well as Paul Barber (Only Fools & Horses, The Full Monty), Adam Deacon (Kidulthood), Sheila Reid (Benidorm, Brazil), Theo Ogundipe (Top Boy), Amy Molloy (Animals) and Ricci Harnett (28 Days Later).
Sophie and Paul (an aspiring musician) can’t pay their London rent and turn to friends and family for support.
Over the course of a summer, things go from bad to worse: The couple lose everything and find themselves lost in the underbelly of life on the streets. Though frustrated, their good humour and positivity land them odd jobs and a temporary shelter.
A story of love, hope and survival in the darkest of times.
Love Without Walls is produced by Karen Newman, best known for Just Charlie, winner of the Audience Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and is directed and written by Jane Gull, director of My Feral Heart, the UK’s most successful OurScreen ‘cinema-on-demand’ film of all time. Screen International’s ‘Screen Star of Tomorrow’ 2022, Susanne Salavati, is the film’s Cinematographer, whilst Ben Cogan, formerly casting at BBC Continuing Drama, is Casting Director.
The films original music is primarily written and performed by singer/songwriter and lead actor, Niall McNamee.
At the time of writing, more than 70,000 households have been made homeless since the pandemic, with numbers continuing to rise at an alarming rate. Whilst this is not a film about Covid-19, it is a film relevant to what we are going through as a society in the aftermath of the pandemic.
Philip Hoile, Head of Acquisitions and Distribution at Bulldog Film Distribution, said, “We’re really excited to be working with the filmmakers to release Love Without Walls – a truly wonderful film full of heart, which highlights just how precarious the apparent stability of life can be in the current climate. Driven forward by great music and engaging performances, particularly from romantic leads Niall McNamee and Shana Swash at its core, the film cements writer/director Jane Gull’s reputation, following My Feral Heart, as a master at showing important stories with a sensitive, human touch.”
Producer, Karen Newman, said; “Receiving the award for Best UK Feature at the exceptional Manchester Film Festival is a great honour. It recognises the film’s outstanding quality and Jane Gull’s distinctive voice. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to showcase the movie to audiences on the big screen..”
