On Sunday October 19, 2014 sees a Sentinel at London’s O2 arena. Awaiting the arrival of people with the Mutant Gene so they can be looked after.
Yep, it’s a promotional event for the release of the latest X-men film, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, to buy. The film comes out on the Sky Store from October 20 and then on 3D Blu-ray™, Blu-ray™ and DVD from November 10.
- The the 18 foot working X-Men prop The Sentinel (the only actual robot used in X-Men Days of Future Past) is unleashed at the London O2 to huge fanfare
- Will be unveiled with smoke and lighting effects, among other X-Men: Days of Future Past props including Professor X’s wheelchair and Wolverine’s leather jacket
- Hundreds of Superfans in X-Men fancy dress will welcome it and stage a fight sequence
The Sentinel will be at the O2 for the next two weeks at The X-men Experience.
Not only can fans have their photo taken with the monster but they can also experience what it’s like to have special powers.
The Sentinel originally took eight weeks to build and all of its parts are moveable and adjustable. It weighs over 2,000 pounds and was shipped to the UK in six separate crates. It will take a team of twelve over ten hours to construct overnight in the O2 before it is spectacularly unveiled on Sunday morning.
