Rihanna goes Home

home logoFrom the creators of Shrek & The Croods, I give you their upcoming film Home. Based upon the novel The Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex.  We see three creatures, if you include the cat, on the run. One, an alien outcast from the invaders, Oh, the other a girl called Tip.

That’s the good bit. What shocked me is the voice cast they got for the film. The biggest name, currently, would be either Jennifer Lopez or Rihanna. We do have some of the old guard there. Steve Martin. Someone who, nowadays, tries to be funny and fails. He used to be funny but that was 25 years ago…

Rihanna’s last outing, where she didn’t play a version of herself, Battleship, wasn’t the most promising start of an acting career. She won the Golden Raspberry for worst actress. she did win the Teen Choice Award for “Choice Movie Breakout”. An award that was voted on by teenagers. They seemed to have voted for someone they had heard of.  Especially if you see who she was up against.

This time she seems to have made a good attempt. She sounds, whilst watching the trailer, that she can actually act. If acting involves sitting down in a recording studio reading words from a piece of paper that is in front of her. Nothing that involves actually having a camera pointed at her.

Boov called Oh from HomeBack to the film. The trailer makes the film look like a ton of fun. It looks like, for me, closer in style to The Croods than How to Train your Dragon.

Just sit back, click play and have a blast with the film’s first trailer.

When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh. The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.
