Changing two lives

Earlier today I received a plea to showcase two upcoming Warner Bros films.

I have always been a sucker for this sort of email, I was easily brought round to doing this.

The first, after watching the trailer I immediately thought of one of those dreadful “Made for TV dramas” from the 80s and early 90s. This time it didn’t have the huge hair and shoulder pads.

It stars Chloe Grace Moretz, who if you don’t recognise the name you will undoubtedly know here from here swearing super-hero from Kick Ass.

It is beautifully acted but, for me, it just reminds me too much of a certain type of drama. Not only that, it seems to be almost all set whilst she is in a coma in hospital. What is real and what is her mind trying to decide to live or die…

On a day that started like any other, Mia had everything: a loving family, an adoring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music. Suddenly, a family drive on a snowy day changes everything. In an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, Mia spends one critical day contemplating a future that is now more unknowable than ever. Is love enough to keep her here? Tragic but ultimately hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting and uplifting story about music, life and love.

The second one is a classic idea. Injured animal helped back to health. This one is inspired by a movie that was inspired by “real life events”.

Perfect for kids as it’s going to be a heart-warming tale of a tail and the fight to keep a dolphin’s home. Not only that, we have the other plot to find a companion for our plucky hero after her surrogate dolphin mother dies.

It has been several years since young Sawyer Nelson and the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Hospital, headed by Dr. Clay Haskett, rescued Winter. With the help of Dr. Cameron McCarthy, who developed a unique prosthetic tail for the injured dolphin, they were able to save her life.
Yet their fight is not over. Winter’s surrogate mother, the very elderly dolphin Panama, has passed away, leaving Winter without the only pool mate she has ever known. However, the loss of Panama may have even greater repercussions for Winter, who, according to USDA regulations, cannot be housed alone, as dolphins’ social behaviour requires them to be paired with other dolphins. Time is running out to find a companion for her before the team at Clearwater loses their beloved Winter to another aquarium.

Both films are coming to a cinemas hear you soon
